ในบทที่ 2 ผมลอกเลียนคำและความหมายของประโยคหนึ่งจากกลอนของ Rudyard Kipling (คนเขียนเมาคลีลูกหาป่า  - The Jungle Book) ครับ

ในกลอนนี้หมายความว่าในแดนเถื่อนชายแดนนั้นความรู้มูลค่าตั้ง 2,000 ปอนด์ ๖ร้อยกว่าปีมาแล้วมากโขอยู่ละครับ) เหลือค่าแค่ปืนบรรจุปาก Jezail (น่าจะอ่านว่าจีไซด์) ราคาสิบรูปี ซึ่งเหมือนกับที่ผมแต่งว่า ต่อหน้าโจรในตรอกเปลี่ยวๆ การศึกษาของคนดีๆ มีอุดมการณ์ก็ลดค่าเหลือแค่การตัดสินใจของคนชั่ว ความหมายโดยสรุปของทั้งบทคือ
 
ต่อหน้าโจรในตรอกเปลี่ยว การศึกษาตั้ง 20 ปี ก็ลดค่าเหลือแค่การตัดสินใจของคนชั่ว

คนดีมีอุดมการณ์ตายไป รุ่งขึ้นวันใหม่คนเขาก็ลืม

ใช้ปืนป้องกันตัว ท่านเลือกได้ว่าท่านจะรอด

เหมือนอย่างกับพลเมืองดีควรกระทำ เพื่อรับประกันสิทธิของผู้บริสุทธิ์

ปล. ในนิยาย เชอร์ลอก โฮล์ม ในเรื่องแรกซึ่งเป็นเรื่องยาว 1 ใน 4 เรื่องของชุด เชอร์ลอก โฮล์ม คือเรื่อง "แรงพยาบาท" หมอวัตสันก็บ่นว่าบางครั้งรู้สึกเจ็บขาเพราะโดนกระสุนปืน Jezail มาจากอัฟกานิสถาน ในหนังสือไทยแปลทับศัพท์ว่าโดนกระสุน "จีเซล"

หมดมุกกลอนเกี่ยวกับปืนแล้วครับ

ถ้ามีมากกว่านี้คงฝืดจริงๆ เพราะที่จริงก็แค่ใช้คำไม่กี่คำซ้ำไปซ้ำมา อาจจะทำให้ท่านที่เปิดเข้ามาดูเบื่อก็ได้ อิ อิ หวังว่าคงไม่กระท่อนกระแท่นจนเซ็ง ถ้าจะให้แต่งเป็นภาษาไทยตั้งแต่ต้นผมแต่งไม่ออกครับ มิใช่ทำเว่อร์นะครับ แต่เพราะกลอนภาษาไทยใช้ภาษาพิศดารชั้นสูงมาก และชอบใช้ภาษาแขกมาปน บางทีก็ใช้คำเปล่าไม่มีความหมายเพื่อใส่เสียงที่ต้องการ ส่วนภาษาอังกฤษแต่งๆ ยังไงก็ได้ ของฝรั่งจริงๆ ไม่มีสัมผัสก็ไม่เป็นไร นอกจากนี้ผมไม่ได้ซึมความรู้สึกเวลาอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเท่ากับภาษาไทย เวลาแต่งอะไรเลยไม่กระดาก กลอนเด็กเล่นพวกนี้ผมแต่งกดส่ง SMS เล่นเวลารถติด บางทีก็เอาไว้เขียนการ์ดงานแต่งงาน
